Introducing diamond in the rough Trey Knight the 6’3 185 pound quarterback out of Franklinton. Trey has a strong pocket presence and is able to adapt and adjust to a defense with precision. Alongside this he is unafraid to run outside the pocket and can breakaway for a touchdown if the opposing defense isn’t careful. It is no surprise though that Trey has a very cerebral game since he dons a formidable 4.0 GPA at school. Trey is in his senior season and so far has lead Pine to a strong 3-1 start as a dual sport athlete playing baseball.

Here is my interview with Trey!
What got you into football?
When I was young my dad got me into it and it was something I enjoyed. It’s an awesome game to play that has taught me a lot of well learned lessons throughout my years.
How’d you end up picking your position?
My dad was a quarterback growing up and I was a tall kid growing up. It was kind of a mindset you know, the captain of the team is the quarterback, the leader and my dad’s always told me to be a leader and not a follower.
Is there a player you emulate playing quarterback?
Growing up I loved Tom Brady, he was a great quarterback. It’s hard to admit because nobody liked him but he’s a great winner. But, then I got into play action guys that are more versatile and dual-threat quarterbacks as I was getting older. I really fell in love with Cam Newton when he played at Auburn and it was really cool to grow up and see him play for the panthers. But really, my dad beat it in my head to be the best version of yourself and not chase somebody else’s dreams.
Who is your favorite football player?
I really like Tom Brady as a winner. But, I have to go LSU Tigers Joe Burrow, the way he carried himself. He didn’t get playing time at Ohio so he made a move which was best for himself came over and had a great junior season and his senior season he went and did it all, anything a quarterback could do so it was really cool watching him.
What would you say is the strongest attribute of your game?
My strongest attribute is running the offense and making a big play happen when they need to be made. If we need to throw it deep we got it, if we need to get in gun I can pick the defense apart. There’s really nothing I can’t do when it comes to running the offense, we run it well, we do it well and, if a big play needs to be made it’s gonna happen.
What differentiates you from the rest?
What makes me different is my leadership skills both on and off the field. I carry myself well, I have good moral character and do the little things right and in the classroom I’m a 4.0 student. I heard a coach say that he wants his guys to be D1 in the weight room, the classroom, and on the field. And, I can say that I set all those roles of playing well on the field, I love the weight room, and I compete well in the classroom.
What is your dream college to attend?
Dream college ultimately would be LSU. Growing up in Louisiana that’s something that every kid dreams of even if you play football or if you don’t, LSU is just such a great environment.
Who’s your favorite NFL team?
The Saints being a Louisiana kid I’m not gonna be a bandwagon and jump team to team there’s not green grass on the other side. It’s something in our Louisiana tradition to like the Saints.
Who’s your dream teammate to play with?
Well he hasn’t made it to the league yet but Whit Weeks he seems like he’s got a killer mindset he seems like a really great leader and does everything right. If I where to say someone in the league it would be Aaron Rodgers or somebody that’s a veteran that knows the game inside and out. And they know how to do every little thing right on how to compete and how to be a winner and learn some leadership skills from those guys.
Favorite football movie?
To be honest I’m not the biggest movie guy but they had a series when I was in junior high called All American that was pretty cool.
