MONROE, La. – The ULM football team is set to open spring practice under second-year head coach Matt Viator on Tuesday, with 13 practices and two scrimmages leading up to the Warhawks’ annual Spring Game on April 8. All practices are open to the public and will take place on the practice fields, weather permitting, or may move to JPS Field at Malone Stadium if necessary.
ULM’s spring practice schedule will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, weather permitting. Practices will open at3:55 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and begin at 2:55 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The Spring Game will take place starting at1:00 p.m. on April 8.
The team will open practice with two days in helmets only on March 14 and 15 before an off day. ULM returns on Match 17 for a practice in shells before moving to full pads on March 18, which will coincide with ‘Browse on the Bayou.’
ULM will practice in full pads on March 21 and 22, while March 22 will also be a ‘High School Coaches Social,’ before a day of practice in shells on March 24. The Warhawks’ first scrimmage of the spring will be on March 25. The team will follow that up with an identical schedule the next week (full padded practice on March 28 and 29; shells only on March 31) leading up to the second scrimmage of the spring on April 1.
The Warhawks will round out the spring practice schedule on April 4 with a full padded practice and a shells only practice on April 5 before the team’s spring game on April 8.
