The Southeastern Lions Compete Against the ACU Wildcats 27-48

After their win against Houston Baptist during homecoming week, the played at Strawberry Stadium again, this time against the Abilene Wildcats. Having the opportunity to play with a home advantage. The Wildcats came to Strawberry festival ready to play an aggressive game as they scored the first TD of the night in the second quarter of the game. This TD was ran by their Running back Tracy James for 15 yards. Tracy scored a total of 2 touchdowns during the game and rushed for a total of 88 yards. Along with his teammate Billy McCrary who rushed for a total of 222 yards during the game.

Despite the team falling short during this game they still managed to play a pretty good game both on defense and offense. Running back Julius Maracalin rushed for a total of  4 yards to score a TD 12:07 into the second quarter. Julius is number 8 on the Lions career ranks for rushing yards he has a total of 1,781 yards and a total of 18 rushing TDs and  is looking to increase those numbers as the season continues. He also scored his very first TD of the season.  Juwan Petit-Frere has a total 32 kick returns. As a team the Lions were able to rush for a total of 126 yards.

They also lead the game in receiving yards with a total of 324 yards vs the wildcats who had a total of 295 yards.  Chason Virgil had a total of 324 passing yards this game and with a total of 2 TDs and one interception. Senior Darren Johnson led the team in rushing yards with a total of 68 yards and 8 carriers. On the defense side of the ball Senior Tamarcus Rusell and Brayelon Thoms both played very well. The final score of the game was 48-27 with the ACU wildcats winning game. Southeastern is now 3-5 and next Saturday they will be traveling to Huntsville, Texas to compete against Sam Houston State for a chance to redeem themselves.
