Southern Lab Three Star Offensive Tackle Jude Foster Reflects On Ole Miss Commitment

Two days ago, Southern Lab three star offensive tackle Jude Foster made the announcement to commit to Ole Miss making him the second Louisiana offensive lineman to commit to the Rebels joining Natchitoches Central High School three star offensive lineman Joseph Cryer. The Southern Lab All-District veteran chose the Rebels for various reasons.

“It was the overall aspect of it. It was everything that I looked for in a college or a university as far as academic, playing time, culture, and Coach Kiffin is amazing. He is one of the best coaches in the country. I will be able to learn a lot under him.”

It was an official visit that he had with the Rebels that proved to be the first signs of him wanting to play in Oxford.

“They showed me a lot that I needed to know about Ole Miss, about football, and overall, the SEC aspect of it.”

Foster chose the Rebels over the likes of Florida State, UAB, Tulane, Baylor, Grambling, Memphis, Louisiana Tech, Georgia Tech, USF, Southern, Arkansas State, and ULM. With his size, frame, and athletic ability to handle himself against some of the better athletes rushing the passer, Foster has the tangibles to play major college football.

“Some of my biggest strengths are my I.Q., my ability to read the defense, my power, my explosion, my versatility, my athleticism, and just being a team player as well. I am very coachable and do not get in any trouble off the field. I am a dog on the field so I bring a lot of aspects to my game.”

Now that Foster has shut down his commitment, he can focus now on the upcoming season in trying to lead the Kittens to their second state championship in three seasons.

“Making the commitment just means that I have a target on my back and I have to work even harder on what needs to be done. I have to make sure that everybody is responsible in getting after it every day, but having fun as well.”

The 6’4, 295 pound offensive tackle wants to show why he is a DI commit by having a big senior season while also enjoying the moment of going through his last season of high school football.

“I want to make All-State, All-Metro, 1st Team All-District, and want to improve my 2024 ranking. It kind of has sunk in a little bit that this is my final year of high school football, but I am excited to see what the season holds. I am ready to dominate the season and get after it.”

Foster is one of the best offensive linemen in South Louisiana and has played with as well as against some of the best competition the state has to offer since he was seven years old.

“I started playing when I was six years old for a youth organization called the South Baton Rouge Jaguars. Ever since then, I loved it and have been playing ever since. There are a lot of teammates that I play against now that are at Madison Prep, Woodlawn, Scotlandville, and other places.”

“It just keeps the competitive edge on me like not getting complacent or getting relaxed and making sure that my technique is right and that my power is right.”

Off the field, Foster is a gentle giant that enjoys swimming, hanging out with family, and also giving back to the community, but on the field, he is all business and is excited to play in the SEC. In fact, he is so excited that he plans on graduating early and enrolling early to get a head start in the spring for the Rebels.

“I will be an early graduate as I will be graduating in December. I will be on a college campus in January and I am ready to just get after it as the season goes on.”
