Southeastern vs Central Arkansas Game Summary 33-25

The Southeastern Lions finished up their third game of the season Saturday night at Strawberry Stadium, in their Southland Conference opener.  The Lions went head to head with Central Arkansas as the score was 33-25, with Central for the win. Within the first 11 plays Southeastern’s senior Darren Johnson was able to score a touchdown for the lions. Making them the first to get earn points on the board.

 

During the second quarter of the game the Bears had great plays from their quarterback Breylin smith. As he racked up a total of 329 yards passing during the game last night. The bears scored two touchdowns during the second quarter, and put themselves in the lead 13-10 with the lions down by three points.

 

During the third quarter of the game the Bears came through with scoring another touchdown by Carlos Blackman. After that the Bears took advantage of some of the few mistakes Southeastern had they were able to score another touchdown leaving the score 27-10 with the Lions trailing behind.  Southeastern showed aggression and was able to come back a little scoring a touchdown with only 13 seconds left in the  third quarter. Despite the rain delay that took over an hour both teams came out ready to finish up the game. Brandon Myers and Breylin Smith completed a 61 yard pass and scored another touchdown for the Bears leaving the score 33-17. With 1:24 remaining the Brasen Schwebel caught an 11 yard pass from Virgil bringing the lions closer in the scoring range 33-25.

 

Junior Chasin Virgil became the game leader with 384 yards passing. Juniors Juwan Petit-Frere and Bransen Schwebel were the top two receivers. Petit-Frere had a total of 4 catches and 110 yards. Schwebel had 4 catches, 74 yards with 1 touchdown.

 

The Southeastern Lions will play next Saturday at 6 p.m as they travel to Lamar in Beaumont, Texas. They hope to see fans in attendance supporting in their green and gold.
