DITR : OL Dantay Ward Jr Waco High School ( Waco, Texas)

Dantay Ward Jr is a standout student-athlete at Waco High School, representing the class of 2025. Standing tall at 6 feet 6 inches, Dantay plays as a tackle on the football team. In addition to his athletic prowess, he maintains a commendable 3.2 GPA, embodying the ideal of a student-athlete. Upon reviewing his film, it becomes apparent that Dantay excels as a run blocker, utilizing his size and strength to move opponents and create running lanes. Moreover, he assumes the pivotal role of protecting the quarterback’s blindside, demonstrating leadership and reliability on the offensive line. His commanding presence and skills contribute significantly to the team’s success in both the passing and running game.

What are your biggest accomplishments?

“Some of them are being 3 year varsity starter, receiving scholarship offers to further my education and ,academic all district.”

What player do you compare yourself to and why?

” I compare myself to Tyron Smith from the Cowboys because we share similar physical attributes like size, wingspan, and strength.”

What are your plans once you’re done with football and why?

” Once I’m done with football, I plan to become a coach at my high school and serve as a mentor for inner-city kids.”

What are some goals you have for yourself, and your team next season?

“ My personal goal is to earn First Team All-District and Super Centex recognition, while for my team, I aim to make it to the playoffs and ultimately win the state championship.”

What do you like about the sport of football and how is it significant to you?

“ I find great value in the camaraderie and sense of brotherhood that football offers. This bond among teammates is significant to me as it creates a support system and a sense of belonging that extends beyond the field.”

What is an interesting fact about you outside of football?

” Outside of football i like to spend my time bbqing with my dad.”

What position do you enjoy playing the most and why?

” Left Tackle is the position I enjoying playing the most because I am protecting the Qb blind side.”

What are some ways your coaches have helped you?

” Coach Vogel has been instrumental in elevating my game, pushing me beyond my comfort zone, and aiding in my recruitment process.”

What colleges have you received any offers or interest from if any and what is your dream college to play for?

” I’ve received offers from Indy, Coffeyville, Sul Ross, and UTEP. As for interest, UTSA, Texas, OSU, Tulsa, Texas State, Texas Tech, UNT, Baylor, ULL, Lamar, TSU, LA Tech, Grambling, East Central University, Montana, and HSU have shown interest.”

What makes you stand out from other players?

“Your height, wingspan, and footwork, coupled with your aggressive playstyle, set you apart from other players on the field.”
