Tatum High School is a public 3A classification by the University Interscholastic League. The Eagles are located about 20 miles south of Interstate-20 in a small East Texas town called Tatum. The school has experienced some championship titles recently winning in back to back years of 2005 and 2006. The Eagles football team has made the playoffs an impressive 16 of the last 17 years. The main goal for the football team this upcoming season is to build off of last seasons success. A ton of changes, including the addition of head coach Keeling, made the past season both successful and a fun journey along the way. After the first round exit last season, the Eagles are hungry to win their first district title since 2013 and make a hard push through the playoffs with an ultimate goal of winning a state championship.

The Tatum Eagles head football coach is named Whitney Keeling. The coach has made stops around the East Texas area including Jacksonville, Kilgore, Pleasant Grove, and Waskom before heading to Tatum. The offensive coordinator is Jeremy Kubiak, cousin of super bowl winning coach Gary Kubiak. He’s been on the staff with Keeling since they coached together at Waskom. On the defensive side of the ball the Eagles are led by Justin Watson. Watson is another coach that made the coaching move from Waskom to Tatum. The coaching staff is very high on this football team that is riding high off a great first year with the new staff.
