School Spotlight: Frisco High School (Fresco, TX)

Frisco High School is a 5A-1 Classification located in Frisco, TX, about 30 minutes north of Dallas. Frisco, home of the Raccoons, has approximately 1,950 students attending their school. While the school has never won a football championship, they have won other championships since the 1980s. The girls’ cross country team, the softball team, the boys’ and girls’ swimming team, and the boys’ track team have all won at least one championship for their school. Head Coach Jeff Harbert is trying to change that to put the football team in that category.

In Jeff’s first season being the head coach for the Raccoons, he helped them become district champions in 2019. This wasn’t Jeff’s first season with Frisco. Jeff has been with the team since 2005. During the period between joining Frisco and head coaching at Frisco, Jeff was the linebacker coach and the defensive coordinator. This promotion has been a long time coming since it was shown that Coach Harbert was loyal to the team.

Since becoming head coach, he has helped lead his team to a plus .500 team every season. His record as head coach for the Raccoons is 40-11, with his worst season being last year. In the 2022 season, they are coming off of a 6-4 record barely missing the playoffs. This year they look to improve that win-lose ratio by starting the season already 5-1 and still looking to improve.
