Randall Passing Academy Puts On First Ever Elite Football Camp

On Saturday, July 13th, former LSU quarterback Marcus Randall of Randall Passing Academy held its first ever elite football camp. In the past, the Bluegrass Miracle quarterback put on numerous quarterback camps in the past, but this was the first camp that was open up to all of the positions. It turned out to be a big success with almost 100 players in attendance for the event, plenty of coaches, and even former LSU and NFL guys out there like Skyler Green coaching the kids.

“It went well. It was year three of us putting on a camp. In the past, we geared it mainly towards quarterbacks. We definitely wanted to do a new camp this year and open it to all positions. I got with a lot of guys that coach the positions so that was the biggest thing. I got with a lot of guys that played the game and coached the game to have out here and learn from. We also had a lot of media guys like yourself and John Eads out here covering these guys so it was a great experience for them.”

The talent was great as well with plenty of guys that are on Gridiron Football’s radar for the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game out there participating. Like at our Elite Camps, players started out with a combine test to measure their athletic ability including the 40, broad jump, shuttle, and medicine ball throw.

Slidell High School 2026 WR Carlos Flemings Jr. and Woodlawn High School 2025 S Caleb Cooper tied for the fastest 40 time with a 4.5 time while 40 other players found themselves in the four second range. For the shuttle, three players ran in the 4.2’s to lead the pack including Southern Lab 2026 WR Jayce Wright, Caleb Cooper, and Woodlawn High School 2027 WR Alonzo Luckett. Finally, for the broad jump, Woodlawn High School 2025 WR/CB Keylen Sonnier led the way with a 10’1 jump while Chef High School 2025 WR Kade Whitehead, Slidell High School 2025 RB Torey Kitchens, and Caleb Cooper all had 10 foot jumps.

The competition brought the best out of everybody in the 100 degree heat. For the 1v1s and 7v7s, quarterbacks like Southern Lab’s Jerry Bottley, Walker’s Bryson Thomas, Scotlandville’s Genard Green, Zachary’s Willie Johnson and Michael Kirby were some of the passers that stood out with their precision passing throughout the day. They also had some great weapons to throw the football to in Belaire 2025 RB Caleb Joseph, U-High 2026 RB Sage Ingram, Slidell High School 2026 TE Jeremiah Birdlow, Istrouma 2025 ATH Kyree Paul, and Zachary High School 2026 WR Kristion Brooks just to name a few.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the football, Woodlawn 2026 DE Tyrone Morgan, Zachary 2025 DL Javon Dent, Scotlandville 2025 DL Cayden Knighten, Woodlawn 2026 DB Cayden Randall, Scotlandville 2025 DB Bernard Kirk, and other standouts fared well defensively.

Overall, the talent was top notch and it shows the rich depth of the talent in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas.

“We had a lot of good guys out there pretty much at every position and some that have gotten offers already. They basically had a chance to get seen by more guys here. As you saw the 1v1 competition was up, the 7v7 competition was up. We saw big plays being made on both sides of the football, and that’s what we wanted to do and see.”

Marcus Randall also talked about how each of the athletes were able to pick up more techniques and tendencies from other coaches to help them with their game for the upcoming season. Based on the success of this inaugural event, there should be more of these to help grow the game of football in Baton Rouge for the near future.
