Plaquemine took care of business this game to continue their undefeated record in their division to move onto the next round of the playoffs where they’ll face Cecilia.
The Plaquemine crowd was lively as they won the coin toss and start at their own 49 yard line off the return by Jairius Jones. Plaquemine would get their first big gain on a 15 yard catch by John Walker V, they would follow this with back to back first down runs by Spencer Collins Jr. Then, WR Dajon Beloney was able to catch a touchdown that would give Plaquemine an 8-0 lead off a 2 point conversion by John Walker V.
Wossman would receive the next kickoff to their own 30 yard line where they would get back to back losses off yards off a tackle for loss by both Cameron Rogers and Bryon Walker. After an incompletion for Wossman they are forced to punt the ball back to Plaquemine. With the ball, Plaquemine would start off shakily as they are forced to a crucial 4th and short. On this play, Plaquemine is able to bait a false start resetting the downs for them. Shortly after, they would score through John Walker V on a run that gave them a 16-0 lead.
With the ball, Wossman begins to drive down the field with first downs from CaDerrius Williams off a catch and a run from the QB Jaterrance Long. However, Wossman would then lose 30 yards off a double penalty called on them that killed their drive and forced them to punt the ball back to Plaquemine. Plaquemine would then start off firing with a 30 yard run from Spencer Collins Jr. and then a 15 yard gain off a run by Austin Young Jr. They would then score off a run by the QB Brennan Miles giving Plaquemine a 22-0 lead.
The game would continue to go Plaquemine’s way during Wossman’s drive as Plaquemine’s defensive line is able to force a fumble that is recovered by Bryon Walker. Plaquemine’s drive would start off strong as well with a 20 yard catch by Tyrinn Henderson. However, Plaquemine would wind up turning the ball over as they would pick up a penalty that they couldn’t recover the yardage for giving Wossman the ball at their own 14 yard line. Plaquemine’s defense bailed them out in a sense here as they are able to force a quick Wossman 3 and out forcing a punt. And a minute before the time expires on the 2nd quarter John Walker V would run in for his second touchdown of the day making the score 30-0 Plaquemine to end the half. Wossman would start with the ball to open the second half with a 20 yard catch by Lamarion Cage and then a 15 yard catch from Lamon Woods. After this, the QB Jaterrance Long would run in for a touchdown to cut the lead to 30-8.
Plaquemine’s upcoming drive would be very short as they went three and out forcing them to punt the ball back to Wossman. Wossman though, would give the ball right back to Plaquemine off an interception by Daylin Jenkins. Plaquemine would carry this momentum into the offense as Spencer Collins Jr. breaks away for a 50 yard run to put them into scoring position. Collins Jr. would also run in the eventual touchdown for Plaquemine that increases their lead to 36-8 to close out the third quarter.
Wossman would struggle to get anything started on their upcoming drive and would be forced to an early fourth down in which they get sacked by Daylan Jenkins causing a turnover on downs. Plaquemine would shortly follow this up with another score this time on a run to Austin Young Jr. increasing their lead to 43-8.
For Wossman’s next drive is another short one except this time it’s positively for them as Ronquarius Hargrove is able to catch a 50 yard bomb that would decrease the deficit down to 43-14. So, Plaquemine sees this 50 yard pass and decides on their next drive that they can do the same as they would throw a 50 yard touchdown of their own to Dajon Beloney to give them a 50-14 lead. This would end as the final score as Wossman has a long drive that ends in a missed field goal and Plaquemine runs the rest of the time off to close the game.
