Meet multi-sport athlete BJ Walker out of Palestine High. BJ plays both basketball and football and excels at each. His speed and athleticism on the field are a key factor in both him and his team’s success. At one of our recent Gridiron Football Elite Camps, BJ got to show off his skills and was named a camp top performer. As a part of the class of 2027, BJ also excels in the classroom with a 3.2 gpa. I recently got to speak to him, and you can read what he had to say below.
What got you into football?
” Growing up I watched my cousins play and it inspired me.”
Who is your favorite player to watch?
” I use to really like watching Odell.”
What team do you root for?
” Colorado”
What do you think your biggest strength is?
” My mentality”
What are your goals going forward?
“To just succeed, to continue to make it in school and football.”
What is your biggest accomplishment so far?
“Getting a scholarship.”
What do you want to do with football in the future?
“Play in college and then the NFL.”
What would be your dream school to play for?
“Texas A&M”
Do you have any pregame rituals?
“Pray”
What motivates you to keep playing?
” My teammates and the people around me motivate me and make me want to go harder.”
I saw that you also play basketball, how do you balance two sports?
“I really just focus on each depending on what’s in season but I always still practice little things like footwork and that type of stuff.”
