DITR: Titus Stringer, Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, Louisiana)

Football players tackle on a green field.

Titus is a senior from Calvary Baptist Academy. Calvary won a state championship in 2023 and are looking to go for their second straight title this year. Titus is a 6 foot, 190 pound linebacker for Calvary. He is only a 1 year starter but is a standout player. Last season, he had 5 tackles for loss along with 50 plus tackles. Currently, he has an offer from Hendrix College but is looking to gain a few more. He has a 3.7 GPA and is apart of the National Honor Society while also playing baseball.

I asked Titus some questions to get to know more about him and this is what he had to say.

Who is one player you look up to and why?

“Dre Greenlaw because he plays fast and physical, has great instincts and most importantly hes a leader.”

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

“Do whatever it takes to help the team win back to back state championships and have at least 90 tackles and 10 tackles for loss.” Honor God through the season too, that’s a big one.”

What made you want to play football?

“I would say what made me want to play football was that I could hit someone hard and not get in trouble for it. I also grew up watching most of my family playing it so it made me want to play and be the best at it. Also to get the chance to have a platform and spread awareness for people in need and to spread Gods word.”

What is something a coach has told you that as stuck with you?

“I’ve had some coaches say I am one of the hardest workers they have ever seen.”

What is your favorite football memory?

“Winning state with my brothers and walking back to the locker room with Coach Miller and having a special conversation with him.”

Is there anything you want to say to any college coaches that you feel like they should know?

“Just that they are going to get a kid who works hard and gives them everything he has everyday and wants to win and will do whatever he has to do for that to happen.”
