DITR: Taggert Stelly

Taggert Stelly is a class of 2022 player for Sulphur High School in Sulphur, Louisiana. He is very versatile and plays quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. He is a strong and fast runner who will power his way into gaining yards. He is 5’11, weighs 185 pounds, and runs a 4.5 40 time. His max bench is 295 and his max squat is 350. He was named 2nd Team All-District last year. He maintains a 4.0 GPA and is in the top 60 of his class. This season he has over 860 all purpose yards. He also has offers from Louisiana College, Sterling College, and McMurry University. Taggert has also committed to the 2021 Gridiron Bowl Game.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.

I’m from Sulphur. I like to hang out with friends and in my free time and I like to go to the weight room.

How did you start playing football?

I really got introduced to it by a friend around the 3rd grade. Ever since then, I’ve been playing.

What keeps you motivated?

My friends and family and God. My coaches and teammates.

How do you prepare for a game?

I watch a lot of film and I stay mentally focused. I try not to think of anything else and stay locked in.

What is an important lesson that you have learned from football?

If you make a mistake, you have to keep pushing.

What are some of your greatest strengths?

My leadership and my attitude.

What do you think sets you apart from other players?

I can play everywhere. I’m not a one dimensional player.
