Each season players look forward to something, rather it is playing a specific team or seeing how the team improved from last season. Being a transfer student Kamryn is going into this season with a new team and a new mindset.

“Some things I’m looking forward to this season is being better than last year that means being a better leader, teammate, and making sure all my brother eat and stay on top of their grades so in the end we all have a way to go to college.”

Having a strong support system is important. Being able to have people that you can turn to whenever things get tough or even for motivation is important for young athletes. Most times when an athlete has people that always support them, it makes them play better as a player.

“Some people that supported me along my journey is my mom, father, brothers, and sister, they have been with me since the beginning since I told them football is what I really want to do.”

QB Kamryn Jackson – When asked about who has supported him along his journey.

Teams cannot win if they do not play as one unit or together. Playing football requires you to play as a team, not one individual can carry a team to victory. Being a good teammate is important to a team’s success.

“Some traits that make a good teammate are being a leader, always being there for a player, motivating when they are having a bad day / practice, encouraging and not bringing a brother down.”

QB Kamryn Jackson – When asked about what makes a good teammate.

Each player has different motivations for playing football. Having something or someone that motivates you as player, allows you to work harder to strengthen your craft.

“What motivates me to play better or get better is my family, especially my mother, I want to make her proud. I really want to attend college and show her I can do it.”

QB Kamryn Jackson – When asked about what motivates him to play or get better.

Kamryn is entering his senior year of high school. He currently has an offer from Texas College in Tyler, TX. He is interested in several other colleges and still looking for more offers.

“Some plans I have after high school are attending college and focusing on football, but you know everyone doesn’t make it to the league so if that doesn’t work out, I want to major in construction management and get my degree.”

In order to get better as a football player, you have to study and watch some best players that play the game. To become a great football player, you have to learn and see what it takes to become great.

“A person game I would model myself after is a rookie in the league CJ Stroud and Deshaun Watson. To me, they are both great leaders and also able to throw and run when needed. They are a dual-threat type of Quarterback and I consider my play style being similar to theirs.”

Last season Kamryn played for Booker T. Washington where he threw for over 1000 yards, rushed for over 400 yards, and accounted for 27 total touchdowns. He led the Washington Eagles to a 9-1 record. Even with the tremendous effort from Kamryn all season long, the Washington Eagles suffered a first-round playoff exit. This year Kamryn plans to recreate and top what he did last year for his new team.

“I learned different things about myself this past season some things are that I need to be more vocal but going into this year I decided to transfer school. Some things I know this team need to be better at are working together and not pointing fingers at each other and being a 2nd half team coming out of half time and finishing.”

QB Kamryn Jackson – When asked about what he learn about himself and the team last season.

A lot of professional athletes played multiple sports growing up. Some athletes are good enough to even be recruited in multiple sports.
