DITR: OLB Kiniaki Williams, Jewel Summer High School (Kentwood, LA)

There are high school football players that represent perseverance and the genuine passion of the game. One of them is Jewel Summer High School’s Kiniaki Williams, a strong offensive linebacker whose success on the field is a tribute to the strength of determination.

With a height of 5’10” and a weight of 186 pounds, Kiniaki has an intimidating presence on the field. Ever since he started playing football in the sixth grade, he was certain to make a lasting impression on the game.

However, this season posed a formidable challenge for Kiniaki as he faced the adversity of an ankle injury that sidelined him from the game. Despite being unable to play, Kiniaki’s impact on his team was undeniable. His absence was felt on the field, where his hard hits and ability to read plays before they unfolded were much missed.

It was at this time of adversity that Kiniaki demonstrated his determination, which is his strength. Instead of giving up, he focused on getting better and underwent intense training to come out of his injury stronger than ever.

For Kiniaki, football is more than just a game; it’s an essential component of community and family. There’s a feeling of unity among his teammates that unites them in their shared goal of winning and being the best every time they take the field.

He serves as a reminder to all of us that genuine strength isn’t just measured in tackles and scores, but also in the courage to rise again and become even stronger than before.
