Q/A:

What has football taught you that you think will help you most in college life?

Football has taught me not to care about the person in front of me but to do what I have to do to win the rep by all means.

What is something from your high school football that you’re going to remember forever?

Playing with the same guys I grew up playing with since we were 10-11.

Are you planning to play football in college or focus more on academics?

Yes, I am planning on playing football in college. Academics are big, though.

What are you most excited about for college, and what are you nervous about?

I’m most excited about the atmosphere and the type of coaching I will receive. I’m not nervous about anything; just go and work hard, and I should be alright.

Who pushed you the most to become the player (and person) you are today?

The people who pushed me the most are definitely my personal trainers, Coach Blaine Clausell and Coach Garrick Spain.

What’s one lesson a younger teammate could learn from your journey?

Keep your head down and do the stuff nobody wants to do; be that one guy who outworks the other.

How do you stay motivated when practices or games get tough?

I think about the people who look up to me on the team and the people watching.

What goals are you setting for yourself in your first year of college?

Work as hard as I can and push myself when I feel I can’t anymore.

If you could replay one game or moment from high school football, what would it be and why?

I would replay our second-round playoff game, Kaplan vs. Kinder. We had them in the second half; we just couldn’t figure it out.

How has balancing school, football, and life shaped your time management?

My schedule is tight, working out, studying, and home life; it really is time-consuming when you look at it.

What kind of legacy do you hope you’re leaving behind on your team?

I hope to show them that even if you’re from a small-town school, you can do whatever you set your mind to do.

Five years from now, where do you hope football and your education will have taken you?

I hope to be at a good college and to study for a good job to set me up for life.

What’s your go-to pregame song?

My go-to pregame song has to be “Alligator Walk” by NBA YoungBoy.

What do you think makes you stand out from other recruits?

Definitely my size, but my work ethic, quickness, and my grades will definitely stand out to recruiters.

What made you fall in love with football?

I fell in love with football once I realized what I could do. Growing up, I was told to be gentle with everyone and try not to hurt anyone because I’ve always been the big kid. But ever since football came, all that changed. Knowing I won off the jump, just by intimidation, before the rep even starts, makes me love football.
