Diamond in the Rough: QB Justice Roy

Justice Roy is an up and coming Junior Quarterback out of North Iberville High School. Standing in at 5’11 and weighing 180 pounds Justice Roy is looking to lead his team to a playoff birth in the team’s first Varsity season in 15 years. Throughout his first 4 games, Roy has completed 36 passes on 61 attempts, amassing 719 passing yards. With an average of 179.8 passing yards per game, Coach Gast trusts him to lead the offense as he has scored 8 passing touchdowns already. He also has 23 carries for 165 yards and 2 touchdown. He has also won player of the in his district twice, as he is someone to continue to look out for during this season. Roy’s next game will be this Friday against Vinton.

When did you start playing football?

“I started playing football in 8th grade.”

What made you start playing?

“I wanted to start playing because I wasted too much time. It was time to experience something new.”

What do you love about football?

“I love the competition and the lessons I learn from it.”

What player, NFL, or College did you model your game after?

“I would say I try to model my game after Joe Burrow or Jayden Daniels.

What would your teammates say about you?

“My teammates would say that I am funny, dedicated, and focused.”

What is your motivation?

“My motivation would be my mom and trying to make her proud. My dad as well.”

What parts of your game are you working on right now?

“Right now, I’m working on my decision making and awareness.”

What is your goal for this season?

“My goal for this season is to make the playoffs and go as far as I can with my brothers.”

What game or moment in a game has been your favorite up to this point?

“My favorite moment was the deep ball I threw BJ (BJ Hudl) in the Livonia game and just the win. I knew what that meant to my coaches and teammates.”

What do you do on your free time outside of school?

“Most of my free time out of school, I am with family or watching film.”
