  1. Can you tell us your name and position on the football team?
    • Jayden Davis, Linebacker.
  2. What made you decide to play football in high school?
    • I was raised in a basketball family but I always gravitated to football since a young kid since my dad played football.
  3. What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced on the field?
    • The biggest challenge on the field is keeping the same energy from start to finish of a game. It is easy to start the game with high energy but the challenge is keeping that energy throughout 4 quarters. Keeping everyone playing with the same fire as me is very important as the Linebacker.
  4. How do you motivate yourself when things get tough during a game?
    • My competitive nature is the thing that keeps me motivated, especially during a tough game. I HATE losing.
  5. What do you think sets you apart from other players on your team?
    • My versatility and my work ethic sets me apart. I ended up playing 4 different positions throughout the season with our coaches finding the best 11 starters for each week.
  6. Can you talk about a moment in your football career that you’re particularly proud of?
    • My most proud moment was winning my first State Championship as a top contributor. The journey and all of the work that you put in is forever grateful at the end of it all.
  7. How do you handle the pressure of being an important player on the team?
    • I’m not one to believe in pressure. You’ve worked all off-season and season long to know your assignments and what is expected of you.
  8. How do you balance football and your academic studies?
    • Getting as much work done as you can in school is most important. When you are on the field, it is all about football. Afterwards, I can complete anything that hadn’t been done during school hours.
  9. What have you learned about teamwork through playing football?
    • I’ve learned that teamwork only works when everyone has completely bought in. When everyone has truly bought into the process, teamwork shows its true potential.
  10. Can you describe your pre-game ritual or superstitions?
    • Thursday: Country music
    • Friday: Chill 90’s R&B
    • Pre-Game Meals & Stretching: Rod Wave
    • Before Game Time: Boosie, YB, Yavo, Watch Isaiah Simmons, Reuben Foster, Luke Kuechly, NFL highlights
  11. Who is your biggest inspiration or role model in the sport of football?
    • My all-time favorite was Brian Dawkins. He was always fast and physical, flying around the ball. He plays football how it is supposed to be played.
  12. How do you stay physically and mentally prepared for each game?
    • Rehab and recovery is very important. You cannot play football if you don’t take care of your body, especially when it entails a lot of contact throughout a game.
  13. What are your goals for the future, both on and off the field?
    • I want to finish my senior year with a 4.3 or above GPA. I want to pursue sports medicine in the school of Kinesiology. On the field, I want to at least play D-I football and whatever happens after that is yet to come.
  14. What advice would you give to young aspiring football players?
    • You get what you put into football. You will not be able to keep up with the level of playing if you do not put enough work in. You get what you give.
  15. What do you hope to achieve with your football career in the future?
    • I want to make an impact on somebody with my career. It can be my family financially or even something as simple as showing kids that you can be great.
