BOONE, N.C. – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns were unable to keep up with the Appalachian State Mountaineers and loss by the score 28-7. The Cajuns are now 4-7 on the year and 3-4 in conference play.
Appalachian State jumped out early, and led 14-0 lead by halftime and never looked back in the second half. The Mountaineers scored another 14 points in the second half before the Cajuns got on the board with Jordan Davis 20-yard touchdown run, making the score 28-7.
Brooks Haack led the Cajuns’ passing attack going 13/22 for 128 yards. Jordan Davis came in on the final drive and went 7/7 for 60 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. Elijah McGuire paced the Cajun’s running game with 43 yards, and Torrey Pierce added 20 of his own. Jamal Robinson had seven receptions for 66 yards, Gabe Fuselier had five for 55, and Gary Haynes had 30 yards on three catches.
On defense, Tracey Walker had two tackles for loss, while Dominique Tovell, Otha Peters, and Kevin Fouquier each had one. Travis Crawford also had a fumble recovery.
The Cajuns will return home to Cajun Field to take on Conference foe, Troy University, for the season finale. The game’s kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
