The future Horned Frog certainly sticks out and it is a no brainer why head coach Sonny Dykes and the defending national runner-ups want the 6’5, 295 pound three star prospect as he certainly has a DI frame to go with agile feet, athleticism, and the ability to pummel defenders in the ground. He also has the type of frame that can fill out while keeping his God gifted ability.

“The TCU coaches and players were like family. When I stepped foot on campus the first time, I knew this is where I wanted to be.”

The top 30 prospect in the state of Louisiana models his game after another standout offensive tackle in the San Francisco 49ers’ Trent Williams.

“His technique and footwork are amazing and he finishes aggressively.”

The Panthers’ three year starter had a prolific career during his time playing for one of North Louisiana’s premier high school football programs in Sterlington. During his time there, he helped lead the Panthers to a state championship as a sophomore along with back to back 1-3A district championships. Through three years, Hodnett has also shown to be very durable having only missed one game, and this season, he was highly graded at 88%.

Unlike a lot of the players that are participating in the upcoming Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, Hodnett knows what college he will be attending, but he is coming down to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for an exciting last high school football experience that he can cherish for a lifetime.

“It is an honor to be selected to participate. I’m looking forward learning techniques and interacting with other athletes.”

An interesting fact about the highly recruited offensive tackle is that gummies are his favorite food. Mitch Hodnett hopes to have a long football career that last throughout not only his college days at TCU, but certainly the NFL. However, Hodnett wants to own his own business when it is all said and done.

Join Mitch and the rest of our players for the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played at Memorial Stadium on December 30th at 6:00 P.M.
