Peabody High School (Alexandria, LA) defensive back Cedric Allen Jr. has committed to play in the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played on Saturday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Allen is the fifth Warhorse that will be participating in the bowl game next week. At 5’10, 180 pounds, the Peabody defensive back displays plenty of toughness and has been a coach’s favorite for head coach Harry Coleman. Over his prep career, Allen has worn many different hats as a player as the former Co-Offensive MVP has really shined on the defensive side of the football.
This year, the two time All-District selection had over 135 tackles as an outside linebacker/safety hybrid to go along with over 13 sacks, five forced fumbles, and three interceptions including two that were returned for touchdowns. The longtime veteran, who has been suiting up for the Warhorses for five years, has a high football IQ, great quickness, anticipation, and toughness that makes him thrive as a defensive playmaker. Allen models his game after another relentless player in San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner.

Allen also displays some awesome leadership after being named team captain for two years. Right now, he has received offers from Community Christian College, Roseville Athletic Academy, and the Georgia Warhawks. He is excited to have one more high school football game at the upcoming Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game next week.
“For me to be playing and to be invited to the All-Star Bowl Game means a lot because this can take me to higher places at the next level, and it shows that somebody is seeing the work and effort I’m putting into the game.”

An interesting fact about Cedric Allen Jr. that not a lot of people know about is that he is a very active person that is always trying to find ways to increase his finances. When his playing days are over, he would like to receive a degree either as a nurse practitioner or as a commercial driver.
Join Cedric and the rest of our players for the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played at Memorial Stadium on December 30th at 6:00 P.M.
