Oakdale High School (La.) athlete Deekota Johnson has committed to the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl on Dec. 30 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
This past season, Johnson was a first team All-District selection at quarterback where he rushed for over 1,000 yards. In his junior season, he was a first-team All-District selection at both wide receiver and cornerback.
“This is a blessing as I always knew that I had the talent to play on big stages, it was just if people trusted me and Gridiron did. I thank y’all for that.”
Johnson models himself after two players, but it depends on what position he is playing at that time.
“When I switched to quarterback last season, I modeled my game after Jayden Daniels because I can do everything he does. For wide receiver, my natural position, I would say Tyreek Hill because we both are not the tallest but we still find ways to get open.”
In his spare time, Johnson enjoys building cars with his Legos. After college, Johnson wants to work in real estate or own a farm with cattle and horses.
Join Deekota and the rest of our players for the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played at Memorial Stadium on December 30th at 6:00 P.M.
