Belaire defeats Tara

Early into the second half of the Belaire vs Tara football game tensions began to flare and there was a clear need for order. After back-to-back personal fouls on each team, the referees resulted in a warning that if both teams didn’t focus on the game they would call it early. They indeed did the very next play after the players continued talking. It was an already obviously emotional and important game for both teams, especially the seniors that knew it would be the final time putting on their team’s jersey. When players helmets started getting removed and face to face confrontation became a post play habit the refs made the call to prevent further confrontation. At the time Belaire was leading 6-0, so they were awarded the win in their final game of the season. What an interesting way to go out!

It was quite the game for the Belaire defensive backfield with 3 interceptions, one from #21 Derrick Lamb Jr., #8 Treveon Frank, and freshman #10 Tyreek Blair. Blair also had another opportunity for an interception that he dropped, a handful of tackles, and multiple runs on the offensive side of the ball for positive yards and a few first downs. The one Touchdown of the game can from Senior running back Javieon Morgan, who has been the bell cow for the Bengal’s offense all season long.

While this may not have been the most ideal way for the Bengals to end their season, at the end of the day at least they get to hang their hat on the season by going out with a well-deserved and hard-fought win, despite the extracurriculars between plays that resulted in an early calling of the game.
