Belaire Bengals defeat Broadmoor

The Belaire Bengals got a huge win on homecoming night against Broadmoor High School. The Bengals never trailed the Buccaneers at any point of the game and were able to capture their first win of the season by a score of 18-6.

The defense was once again the star of the show in tonight’s win over Broadmoor. Some notable plays on the defensive side of the ball include #16 Caleb Joseph’s pick 6, #7 Jayden Butler’s fumble recovery for a touchdown, and #8 Treveon Frank’s Interception. The defense played super scrappy and only allowed a score on a busted coverage late in the 4th quarter.

The defense has played very well all season, the difference tonight was the offense’s ability to move the ball much more efficiently than in prior weeks. The running backs, #5 Javieon Morgan and #21 Derrick Lamb Jr, both had notable games rushing the ball. Javieon Morgan set the tone on the first drive of the game with 2 breakaway runs, followed by a Derrick Lamb 2-yard touchdown scamper. We even got to see #16 Caleb Joseph carry the rock again. Caleb Joseph is a player who is rapidly becoming a very important piece on both sides of the ball for the Bengals in just his freshman season.
