Another Tough Road Loss for the Lions

This weekend was a rough weekend for Lion’s fans as the Southeastern Lions went on the road to take on the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in Texas. Coming into this game the Lions had just come off a dominant win against Central Arkansas 41 to 24. Unfortunately, the Lions were unable to provide the same outcome against the Lumberjacks losing the game 27 to 17. The Lions just couldn’t get anything going in the first half of this game and could not get on the board. However, as usual the Lions were a second half team in this game making a comeback scoring 17 points in the second. It just wasn’t enough to get the job done and the Lions suffered their 3rd loss of the season. Senior Quarterback Bryan Bennett had a good game going 8-of-15 for 186 yards and had 1 touchdown passing. Bennett did have 1 interception in this game but added to his rushing totals with 42 yards on 8 carries with 1 rushing touchdown. The Rushing leader for the Lions was Junior Wide Receiver Back Xavier Roberson who had 50 yards on 8 carries. The receiving leader for the Lions in this game was Junior Wide Receiver Jeff Smiley who had 143 yards on 4 receptions and one touchdown. The Lions continue to struggle on the road with all of their losses being away games. However, I still believe that this Lions team is a dominant one that can end the season off right. LION UP!!!
