Our next rising star feature is on Barton Middle School (Buda, TX) QB Angelo Gonzales. At 5’6, 117 pounds, Gonzales is a quarterback to watch out for in the Texas middle school ranks. With a high IQ of the game and 4.6/40 speed, Gonzales is a quarterback that can beat defenses not only by his arm but his legs as well. After playing football for only four years, he has already shown that he can be a winner. He has led his select team the Sharks through an undefeated season and a 12U championship. Not to mention, he led his 7th grade team a district championship. Along the way, he has earned MVP awards for both teams. Besides football, Gonzales is a multi-sport athlete that plays basketball, baseball, and is a school record holder for the boy’s 4×400. Just as impressive, he maintains a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. On the field, you will see him wear pink and he wears the color to honor his mom, who is a breast cancer survivor. Angelo Gonzales is a true student of the game and what is scary is that he is only scratching the surface after only playing football for four years.
