DITR: RB Daniel Hatcher Jena High School ( Jena, LA)

We have junior Daniel Hatcher out of Jena, LA . A 5’10 220 running back with a 2.8 GPA ending the season with 1800 rushing yards. Daniel ran track, played basketball and baseball for 1 year. Gridiron Football wishes him the best at the next level!

What has football taught you that you think will help you most in college life?

Leadership.           

How does it feel knowing this is your last season wearing your high school jersey?

It’s feels unbelievable it’s like it flew by and I can’t believe it’s about to be over.           

What moment from your senior year are you going to remember forever? 

When me and my teammates made history and made it to the dome. 

Are you planning to play football in college, or focus more on academics?

Playing football in college.

What made you choose the college you’re heading to?

I haven’t chosen a college yet.

What are you most excited about for college  and what are you nervous about?

I’m excited to experience the atmosphere of football in college and new people,I’m nervous of being away from home finally on my own.

Who pushed you the most to become the player (and person) you are today?

My mom is what pushed me the most. She always talks about my grades and sports.

What’s one lesson a younger teammate could learn from your journey?

Never give up if you want something all you have to do is put the work in.

How do you stay motivated when practices or games get tough?

I remember who I’m playing for and what I’m playing for.

What goals are you setting for yourself your first year of college?

Work for a starting spot.

If you could replay one game or moment from high school football, what would it be and why?

The game in the dome because I think we could’ve won if some things wouldn’t have happened,

How has balancing school, football, and life shaped your time management?

It has shaped it because now I have to lock in more when I don’t have the same amount of time to do something,

What kind of legacy do you hope you’re leaving behind on your team?

A great one like being a great teammate,show up to practice everyday,be on time,and don’t complain.

Outside of football, what are you hoping to discover or try in college?

What it’s like being in college and being away from my people.

Five years from now, where do you hope football and your education have taken you?

I hope it will take me to my dream place which is the NFL.

What’s your go-to pregame song?

Already won by Rod wave or I let the world burn by Chris grey.

What snack or meal do you destroy after games?

Skittles for snack and BBQ wings as a meal.

The first thing you’re doing when you move into your dorm?

Get to know my dorm roommate.

If football didn’t exist, what sport do you think you’d be good at?

Baseball when I was younger but I stopped playing because of football.
