Let’s welcome the latest Rising Star, Dean Thomas, class of 2032! Dean was seen preparing for the upcoming season at the Gridiron Football Elite Camp in Lake Charles. Working towards the goal of playing football in high school, Dean currently receives A’s and B’s academically. He is maintaining a rigorous practice schedule, between the champion basketball team he plays on and football, all to help him reach that goal. Dean currently weighs 85lbs and is 4’11, putting him on a good track to be the high school football player he is striving to be!

What did you look forward to most at the camp?
“The competitive people out there, learning to do new things, and just getting out of my comfort zone.”
What was your favorite drill?
“Definitely 7 on 7.”
Was there a specific drill you would have liked to have done?
“Not really, I liked the drills we did.”
What did you like about the camp?
“The coaches were very nice, lots of good people were there.”
What skills do you think you performed well?
“Probably my speed. I did a good job on the 40 and with catching.”
What was your 40-yard dash and shuttle run time?
“6.06 was my 40, and 4.22 was my shuttle.”
What was your broad jump?
“8’6.”
Overall, do you think you performed well?
“I think I did pretty good.”
If you could have done something differently, looking back at it, what would it be?
“Listening to the coaches more and being more repetitive with the drills.”
What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
“My biggest strength is my mindset, and I think my height is my personal weakness.”
What was the most difficult part of the camp for you?
“Definitely communication.”
Why did you choose our camp?
“I wanted to learn more about the camp, improve my skills, and meet new people.”
If you could offer one piece of advice for future players participating in the camp, what would it be?
“Even though there might be older, better people out there, you can’t give up; you need to work hard.”
