Thank you, Live Oak High School, for helping make our first GridIron Football Camp of 2026 possible!
Live Oak High School was founded in 1895 and has become recognized as a Top 25 public high school in Louisiana. Along with their phenomenal education program, they are also part of District 4-5A (Division 1) in the LHSAA. One of their most recognized teams is their Cheer Team, holding the title of 7-time UCA National Cheerleading Champions! On the football field, the program transitioned from its humble 1973 starting season to competing at the highest level in Class 5A. While the team historically faced great challenge, they later had a comeback in 2015, gaining Live Oak’s first-ever postseason victory! More recent seasons have been defined by record-breaking talent, like Cayden Jones setting the 2025, single-season passing record with over 3,200 yards. The Live Oak Eagales are more than a sum of teams or academic achievements, it is their community. After the 2016 flood, the football program and school facilities stepped up to help that community and host displaced students from Denham Springs, allowing student education to continue. Because of this, they have gained the identity as the “Home of the Eagles.”
Q & A ft. Head Coach Legette
When did you start coaching football?
Back in 2013.
What has been the biggest lesson you have learned while coaching?
One of the lessons I learned is the ability we have as coaches to impact our peers and student-athletes in every area of their lives.
Is there any room for improvement for you or your team?
Every year, we’ll have room for improvement, no matter the end results from the previous year. It’s imperative that we attack the areas where we are weak and consistently improve the areas where our strength resides.
What do you hope to achieve next season?
Growth in all parts of our program.
Do you have any future goals for the football program at Live Oak?
Playoff Berth
