Q&A with Jacob Jameson.
What were your takeaways from the Gridiron Football Bowl Game?
- “The bowl game was a really good experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone. It felt like a college experience because you’re traveling somewhere new, staying in a different place, and playing with teammates you normally wouldn’t know since they’re from all over the country.”
How do you feel about your performance at the bowl game
- “I think I performed really well, and we did a great job as a team. We finished as runners-up in the championship game and came up just short, but overall I feel like we competed at a high level both as a team and individually.”
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
- “Some of my weaknesses are my footwork and pad level, which are things I’m continuing to work on. My strengths are combo blocking, making first contact off the snap, and my hand placement.”
Why should college coaches recruit you?
- “I’m willing to learn, and I have a mindset that nobody can stop me. I was named the best offensive lineman in my class this year, and I’ve maintained a 3.74 GPA. I’m a leader, I know there’s always room to improve, and I’m committed to getting better.”
Do you play any other sports?
- “No, football is my main focus”
Why do you love football?
- “Football relates to life. You’re going to face challenges, just like you do in the game, and it’s all about how you overcome them and handle adversity.”
Who are some players you look up to?
- “I like Jason Kelce and Will Campbell. What I like most about Will Campbell is his mindset is that he’s going to get the job done no matter what. I feel like I’ve shown that same mindset this season by competing against three- and four-star players and proving I can hold my own play in and play out.”
