One of the key leaders for the Jewel Sumner Cowboys has committed to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game and that is their tight end/quarterback Eli Neyland. Neyland will showcase his talents at the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will take place on Tuesday, December 30th at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana.
At 6’3, 190 pounds, Neyland is one of the biggest and strongest quarterbacks in the state of Louisiana as he can power clean nearly 300 pounds and can squat 525 pounds. As a former tight end for the Cowboys, Neyland made the transition to run the Wing T offense. It was a seamless transition as the Cowboys’ versatile offensive weapon led the team to their first undefeated season while making 1st Team All-District in the process. Being one of the key players to lead the Cowboys to perhaps their best two year run in program history which includes back to back 10 win seasons, district championships, and Quarterfinal seasons, offensive coordinator Zach Kellem absolutely loves coaching a player like Neyland.
“Eli Neyland started for us at tight end last year. He’s moving to quarterback for us and I tell you what, I think he is the strongest quarterback in the state. I am really excited about what he can do and what all of these guys can do this year.”

With a 3.5 GPA, Eli Neyland is a standout two sport athlete that is also a talented baseball player for the Cowboys, but before Neyland trades in his helmet for a baseball bat, he will have one more opportunity to showcase his skills in front of college coaches at the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will take place on Tuesday, December 30th at Louisiana Christian University.
“It’s really special and it’s going to be very fun. We’ve had a few of our players play in the bowl game in the past and it seems like a lot of fun.”
