WACO, TEX.– Frostburg State (Md.) routed Glenville State (W.Va.), 41-9, to remain undefeated on the season at 6-0. The Bobcats’ defense ruled the day, allowing the Pioneers just 66 yards rushing and only one third-down conversion in 12 attempts. The win moved Frostburg to No. 22 in this week’s AFCA Division II Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl. That sets the stage for a top 25 showdown in the Mountain East Conference as the Bobcats will host No. 13 Charleston (W.Va.), who is also 6-0 on the season.
Central Washington lost to Texas-Permian Basin, 14-13, dropping the Wildcats from 9 to 22, allowing Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) to move to the No. 9 spot and set up a top 10 matchup in the Great American Conference (GAC) with defending national champion and No. 1 Harding (Ark.). Ouachita’s last win over Harding was in 2022 when the Tigers were ranked No. 9.
The final top 25 matchup this coming weekend is another game in the GAC as newly ranked and No. 24 Southern Arkansas plays host to No. 25 Henderson State (Ark.). Southern Arkansas last appeared in the AFCA Top 25 on October 29, 2018, and were ranked No. 20. The Muleriders were ranked for eight weeks in 2018, going as high as No. 15.
