The only school in East Baton Rouge Parish to have players sign on Early National Signing Day is Woodlawn High School and today, the Panthers not only had one, but two players sign in DE Tyrone Morgan and S Cayden Randall.
Rated as a four star prospect by Gridiron Football, Tyrone Morgan is one of the top defensive end prospects in the state of Louisiana and in the country. The 6’4, 240 pound 1st Team All-District pass rusher committed the Bears in June and never backed down from that commitment ever since.
“It means a lot. It has been a long journey for me. Just getting recruited by Baylor is a big opportunity for me and I am so thankful to God for that. I am just ready to get there, work hard, and just be the player that they expect from me.”
“What really stood out for me the most was the communication that they had with me. They always stayed in contact and knowing that I was a player that they wanted. Once they have seen me and seen my film, they trusted me and knew that I was that guy. I knew that and that was the school I wanted to be at.”

Morgan was a nightmare for opposing offensive tackles with 30 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 17 TFLs, 3 FFs, and 4 PBUs. He received offers from schools like Texas State, UTSA, San Diego State, Tulsa, South Alabama, and plenty of others, but it was Dave Aranda and his staff that won over Morgan the entire process.
“The type of player that they are going to get from me is one that is always focused and is 100% dedicated to their program. Dave Aranda is a really good coach. I am 100% locked in with him and his mindset. Being there, I will feel right at home.”

Morgan is not the only standout Woodlawn player to sign as Cayden Randall also signed his letter of intent. This time, Randall decided to ink his name and sign with the Southeastern Louisiana Lions.
“I am so excited to start this next chapter of my life. I am ready to go and play some college football. I am ready to work and ready to get to it.”

Cayden Randall is now a second generation college player as his dad Marcus Randall was a former quarterback at LSU made famous by the “Bluegrass Miracle” and his uncle Eric Randall was a Hall of Fame quarterback at Southern University.
Marcus Randall, who also coached his son Cayden at Woodlawn, is so proud of his son and all that he has accomplished to get to this point.
“I am very proud. This has been a long time coming. There has been a lot of work put in over the years and to be able to see him get this chance to sign his name on the dotted line and further his career in the classroom and on the football field. He will get the chance to see what this next journey is going to bring for him.”

For Cayden, he has received offers from the likes of Nicholls State, Grambling, Abilene Christian, Southern, Arkansas Monticello, Jackson State, and others, but throughout this time, it was Frank Scelfo and Southeastern Louisiana University that stood out the most.
“They just have a great atmosphere. The coaches show a lot of love. It just felt like home and that’s why I chose them.”

At 6’0, 190 pounds, the four-star ranked prospect from Gridiron Football did a little bit of everything for the Panthers. Offensively, he ran for 10 touchdowns and he threw for five touchdowns. Then, defensively, Cayden had 49 tackles, 1 INT, 3 FFs, and 5 PBUs. Just being an all-around football player that can take over games makes him an exciting prospect for Southeastern fans.
“I am going to put a show on for them and am going to play my hardest out there.”
