U-High 5 Star Lamar Brown Commits To LSU

One of the biggest headliners in the 2026 class has made his college verbal decision in U-High five star OL/DL Lamar Brown, who chose the LSU Tigers over Texas A&M, Texas, and Miami.

“It feels good to play for my state and my city. It’s the best option for me not just for three to four years, but for my life. I am just blessed to be in this position and ready to be a Tiger.”

Committing to a university that is down the road felt right for the Cubs’ two way star and he gives a lot of credit to the coaching staff including Frank Wilson for that decision.

“Frank Wilson has been on me since the first day, but really, honestly the whole staff. Everybody on the staff really helped me feel welcome.”

At 6’4, 285 pounds, Brown has the ability to dominate not only on the offensive side of the football, but on the defensive side of the football. One of the biggest questions would be which side he would be playing at the next level and for the new Tiger, he has made his decision of where he wants to play.

“They like the fact that I can play inside out. I can play inside on third downs and find an individual matchup.”

He now joins Edna Karr five star defensive lineman Richard Anderson and four star edge rusher Trenton Henderson as the LSU commits on the defensive line quickly forming a potentially scary unit in the next couple of seasons.

“I just know that the defensive line that we have right now, it is going to be tough for the SEC to block us. Hopefully, they get ready.”

With this commitment, the number one defensive lineman in the nation and the number one prospect in the state of Louisiana says that he has locked down his recruitment until Signing Day.

“I plan on talking to some commits and we want to build on from there. I’m officially locked in. No more visits. This is it.”

Lamar Brown also wanted to get the decision out the way just in time to focus on the upcoming season and end his high school career with a championship.

“I am excited. I just want to get this out of the way so I can focus on the season. We haven’t won a championship in five to six years. We are trying to bring that back and become the first class to bring it back in that many years.”
