St. Martinville QB Khyrie Francisco is a name to watch out for that is flying under the radar as a player to watch in the Acadiana area this upcoming season. At 6’1, 200 pounds with 4.7/40 speed and a 33 inch vertical, Francisco is a great athlete that can not only beat defenses with his arm, but he can also beat you with his speed and athleticism. Coming back from a season ending injury last season, Francisco is 100% ready to go this upcoming season and has really been impressive over the 7v7 circuit including at our Gridiron Football 7v7 Tournament earlier this January. When healthy and at his most confident, there is no doubt that Francisco can compete with the best of the best in the state.

“Every area to my game is my biggest strength.”

Not only does Francisco have the physical tools, but he is also playing for his 7v7 coach Garrett Kreamer as his head football coach at St. Martinville. Coach Kreamer is one of the best quarterback gurus and offensive coaches in the state. Already having a QB/HC relationship with him is going to pay dividends for the upcoming season.

“It’s awesome having Coach Kreamer. He was my 7v7 coach. We have a great relationship and I feel I can talk to him about anything, football or not. He’s also changing the culture of St. Martinville positively.”

As a rising senior, Francisco wants to play a part of that culture by leading the Tigers to a state championship this season. In order to get there, St. Martinville’s QB1 has done a couple of things over the offseason in order to accomplish those goals.

“I have most been working on my accuracy and pre-snap reads. The number one quality a quarterback should have is his football IQ and I am always working on improving that.”

He also likes to model his game after a former dynamic quarterback that was a cheat code as a dual threat.

“I model my game after Cam Newton. He fits my play style and I try to model my game after him.”

At the Gridiron Football Media Day, Francisco earned an invite to play in the 2025 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game after the season and he is excited about the opportunity to show off his physical abilities and his confidence in front of college coaches.

“It means a lot. I feel that my talent has been recognized and I’m ready to put it on display.”

Khyrie Francisco has played football as long as he can remember and he wants to continue that not only through high school, but also beyond no matter where it may be at.

“When I first started, it’s like the football field felt like home to me. I am a very coachable player. I can play anywhere you need me to. I’m an athlete. I am more than open to playing other positions.”
