Let’s welcome the newest Rising Star, from the class of 2029, Brody Casteel! Brody was seen showing off his skills at the Gridiron Elite camp at Live Oak. Brody has maintained a 3.8 GPA, making the honor roll every year, even while playing basketball too! He is 5’9 and weighs 160 lbs. Brody can bench up to 215 lbs, squat 330 lbs, and has a clean of 205 lbs. These accomplishments have led Brody to be Gridiron’s newest Rising Star.

What did you look forward to most at the camp?
“The chance to get my name out there, get recognized, and hopefully get an invite to the bowl game.”
What was your favorite drill?
“The shuttle run.”
Was there a drill you would have liked to have done?
“No, I think they were all perfect.”
What did you like about the camp?
“I like how organized it was, and each person got equal participation.”
What skills do you think you performed well?
“I think I performed well at route running and agility.”
What were your 40 yd and shuttle run times?
“It was a 5.25 and a 4.56.”
What was your braod jump?
It was 7’11.”
What are your biggest strengths?
“I am very agile and coachable.”
Do you think you performed at your best?
“Yes, but I could have done much better. There is always room to grow.”
If given the chance, what would you have done differently?
“I think just getting in more reps, I could have shown off more of my abilities, on both sides of the ball.”
Do you have a role model?
“Yes, ma’am. My brother played football, and I had grown up playing with him. I also look up to Devonte Adams.”
Why do you play football?
“I love the physicality of it, it’s just an awesome sport.”
Why did you choose our camp?
“It was a chance for exposure and tips, and to be able to figure out what I can do better.”
Did you learn any important lessons at the camp?
“Yes, ma’am. learned how to correctly do a lot of the drills and got tips on how to better my overall performance.”
If you could offer one piece of advice for future players participating in camps, what would it be?
“Just be really prepared and go full out.”
