In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the football scene is filled with young talent, and one name that stands out is Bryce Shropshire. A determined and skilled quarterback from Southern Lab, Bryce has dedicated himself to refining his game every day. At 6’0 and 185 pounds, he combines physical ability with a high football IQ, making him a key player on his team. His relentless work ethic and leadership set him apart, ensuring that he is always striving to improve both individually and as a teammate.

Bryce’s talent was on full display this past December when he competed in the Gridiron Football Junior High Bowl Game for Team South. His performance on this larger stage further solidified his reputation as a rising star, showcasing his potential to excel at higher levels of the game. His ability to stay composed under pressure, make smart decisions, and execute plays with precision makes him a player to watch in the coming years.

When I spoke with Bryce about his football journey, his passion for the sport was undeniable. Inspired by his father to start playing at just five years old, he now dreams of using football as a path to college and eventually the NFL. His commitment to growth, both on and off the field, is clear he works tirelessly in the offseason, training with his quarterback coach, lifting weights, and perfecting his technique. With his talent, dedication, and drive, Bryce Shropshire football journey is only just beginning, and his future looks incredibly bright.

Q. Who got you into football?

       A.    “The person that got me into football was my Dad. I started around 5 years old.”

Q. Why do you play the game of football?

      A.      “I play football to have fun, be competitive, and win.”

Q. What’s the biggest lesson you learned through playing football?

      A.       “The biggest lesson I have learned playing football is that you should stay calm. You shouldn’t get too high or too low with your emotions.” 

Q. Where do you see going in your life? 

     A.         “I see football taking me to college and hopefully to the NFL.”

5.  What is your favorite football memory?

     A.         “One of my favorite football memories was my 8th-grade night game and I threw 2 touchdowns.”

Q.   What does football mean to you?

     A. “Football means the world to me. I love playing.”

Q.    What challenges have you had while playing football?

     A. “Some challenges I had in the past were reading defenses and overstriding in my throwing motion.”

Q.     How do you overcome those challenges?

                A. “I overcome these challenges by focusing on correcting them in the off-season.” 

Q.      How do you stay trained and in football shape in the off-season?

     A.        “A few things I do to stay in football shape are training with my QB coach, weightlifting and conditioning.” 

Q.    How are you looking to get better and improve in football?

      A. “I can improve on reading defenses and being smoother with my throwing motion.” 

Q.      What are some goals that you have set for yourself in the future?

      A.    “Some goals I have set for myself are to start as a Freshman on my High School Team, maintain a 4.0 GPA in High School.”    

Q.      Who is your favorite football player and why?

       A.    “My favorite football player is Jayden Daniels, because of how he is under pressure. He is calm and collected at all times.”

Q.       What football Teams do you cheer for?

       A. “I cheer for the Ravens and LSU”

Q.        What do you think your biggest strength is?

       A.   “My biggest strength is to be a leader and the ability to make plays”

Q.     What are your goals going forward?

       A.   “Some goals that I have going forward are to become bigger, faster, and stronger.” 

Q.     Do you have one fun fact about yourself? 

       A. “I’m taller than my parents already.”
