There have been many great dual-threat quarterbacks that have come out of the state of Louisiana, but this is definitely one that people are going to want to keep their eyes on for years to come. As our latest Diamond in the Rough featured athlete, Cortland Brownfield is a 6’0, 175 pound quarterback that currently attends Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For his first two years of high school, Brownfield attended University High, and is looking to have a fresh start on the field and in the classroom with the Panthers, as he has maintained a 3.6 GPA. Now, he will get the opportunity to be coached by former LSU and Tennessee Titans player, Marcus Randall. This will definitely help mold Brownfield’s game for the better in the coming seasons. For the class of 2025, he is currently ranked the number one dual-threat quarterback in Louisiana, according to QBHitlist.com. He has two offers at the moment, from Grambling State and Lane College, but has been at college camps all summer to show his skills off to colleges for them to notice him even more.
