After getting a commitment from Franklin Parish CB Dezyrian Ellis and Pensacola Catholic DE Trenton Henderson earlier this week, the LSU Tigers were able to get two more commitments on the 4th of July in West Jones High School (Laurel, MS) 3 star OT Bryson Cooley and Haynesville High School (Haynesville, LA) 4 star safety Isaiah Washington.
Offensive line coach Brad Davis now can claim the top two offensive linemen in the state of Mississippi first getting a commitment from the number one offensive lineman in the state in Emanuel Tucker and now, the second in Cooley.
At 6’6, 315 pounds, the West Jones High School product is projected to be a tackle on the left or right side and has the ability to drive opposing defensive linemen a couple of yards off the line of scrimmage. Cooley chose the Tigers over the likes of Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.
The second haul the Tigers got this Independence Day is another defensive back after requiring three star Dezyrian Ellis earlier this week. It is another Louisiana in-state prospect in Haynesville High School four star safety Isaiah Washington.
Like Ellis, Washington is a standout quarterback for his prep football team leading the Golden Tornadoes to back to back state championship game appearances. The 6’1, 170 pound prospect has been a high riser after receiving an offer from the Bayou Bengals last month. Washington ranks as the number three safety in the state. Safeties coach Jake Olsen and cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond played a big role in his recruitment.
With the two commitments, the Tigers now have 14 overall commitments in the 2026 class with 11 of those prospects coming from the state of Louisiana or the state of Mississippi.
