The biggest news of the second day of LSU’s fall camp was that Aaron Anderson was not in full participation at practice today after practicing on Wednesday.
With Anderson’s absence, it allowed Barion Brown to get first team reps with the rest of the offense. Yesterday, Brian Kelly spoke highly of the wide receivers mentioning that there are eight highly caliber SEC wideouts on the roster and that they need to do a good job of managing that talent and keeping everybody fresh.
Brown lined up alongside Chris Hilton Jr. and Zavion Thomas with the first team receivers. The good news is that Oklahoma transfer Nic Anderson is fully back 100% in practice and was working second team reps with the team.
The first team offense included the same offensive line as yesterday with Tyree Adams at left tackle, DJ Chester at left guard, Braelin Moore at center, Josh Thompson at right guard, and Weston Davis at right tackle.
In the limited amount of time we got to see today, we got to see a little special teams work as well with Damian Ramos and Aeron Burrell attempting field goals. Ramos went 2/3 in his attempts and Burrell went 2/2.
Ramos was working with the first team special teams unit that included Grant Chadwick as the holder and Jonathan Ferguson as the long snapper.
One other thing to note is that Ju’Juan Johnson and Michael Van Buren Jr. took reps with the second team offense with Johnson working in some zone read plays while Van Buren was running the offense.
We will have more posted for our next media availability on Saturday.
