The Bulldogs returned home after a two week road trip to Western Kentucky and Kansas State. Last week Louisiana Tech played a hard game against a Big 12 opponent in Kansas State with a 3rd OT loss. This week they faced the FIU Panthers. FIU has some Louisiana grown talent on its team including: DT Darrian Dyson (Edna Karr HS), Brandon Taylor (Slidell/Northshore HS), and Marques Cheeks (New Orleans/O.P. Walker HS).

Despite excellent plays from FIU in the second half of the game, the playmakers from LA Tech were able to round out the game with another field goal from Jonathan Barnes and a touchdown from Kenneth Dixon. Coach Skip Holtz in his postgame interview said, “We may not yet know just how special a player Kenneth Dixon really is.” As an observer of the game this Saturday, I have to say I agree with Coach Holtz that Kenneth Dixon is a special player. Not to be outdone, QB Jeff Driskel who ranks 13th in the nation in Passing Yards per Game, better than any ACC, Big 10, Big 12, or SEC quarterback. The final score of the game was 27-17 Louisiana Tech.
