Gridiron Football Puts On Flourishing Camp at John Curtis High School

For the first time in the New Orleans area, Gridiron Football puts on camp at John Curtis High School. It was a great opportunity for Gridiron to seek out some of the top talent in one of the best football rich areas not only in Louisiana, but in the country at a school that has produced 28 football state championships and the winningest high school football head coach in history: J.T. Curtis.

Over 50 players took part at the camp last weekend and they not only got exposure, but they also got some words of wisdom from some highly successful people in the industry.

First, Gridiron Football CEO Andy Bryson gave the players some advice about what it takes to get to the collegiate level. It was followed by motivational speeches from former college and NFL quarterbacks like Marcus Randall (LSU) and James Tabary (Arkansas State/McNeese State). Then, of course, the GOAT himself J.T. Curtis wrapped up the opening speeches by giving words of wisdom to the campers.

As always, the first part of the camp is the combine which is always the football version of the standardized test. All the players get their measurables for the 40, shuttle, and the broad jump.

The 40 yard dash showcased the speed that the New Orleans metro area is known for. 12 players ran a least in the 4.6’s. Leading the way was Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay, who ran a blazing 4.45 time. St. Charles Catholic 2026 RB Skyler Edwards also was able to sneak in the 4.4’s with a 4.48. Liberty 2026 S Carlnell Robinson (4.51), Fontainebleau 2028 RB Sheldon Asmore (4.51), Hammond 2026 RB Trion Wise (4.52), South Lafourche 2026 WR Terrance Pitre (4.6), Ellender 2026 WR LaDainian Perna (4.61), Springfield 2026 WR Ethan Lipscomb (4.61), South Lafourche 2026 QB Joshua Mack (4.61), South Lafourche 2026 WR Andravin Hughes (4.64), and Woodlawn 2026 S Cayden Randall (4.66) all were just behind.

For the shuttle, Fontainebleau 2028 RB Sheldon Asmore led the way with a 4.27 time. South Lafourche 2026 WR Terrance Pitre (4.35), South Lafourche 2026 WR Landon Jarvis (4.36), Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay (4.36), Hammond 2027 RB Trion Wise (4.39), Woodlawn 2026 S Cayden Randall (4.39), St. Charles Catholic 2026 RB Skyler Edwards (4.42), Salmen 2027 QB/WR Dajohn Howard (4.42), South Lafourche 2026 QB Joshua Mack (4.45), Acadiana Christian 2026 LB Kaleb Broussard (4.47), and Springfield 2026 WR Ethan Lipscomb (4.48) all ran under the 4.5’s.

Once again, Woodlawn 2026 S Cayden Randall was one of the leaders in the broad jump, and this time, he was the leader with a 10′ jump. Salmen 2027 QB/WR Dajohn Howard (9’8), South Lafourche 2026 WRAndravin Hughes (9’6), Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay (9’4), Haynes Academy 2027 LB Carter Sternberger (9’1), St. Charles Catholic 2026 RB Skyler Edwards (9’1), and South Lafourche 2026 QB Joshua Mack (9’0) all jumped at least nine feet in the broad jump.

Each of the players had 15-20 minutes to work on their techniques as everybody went to their prospective position group. After putting in the work, it was time to compete.

Starting with the skill position players, there were a lot of deep shots during 1v1 competition from the quarterbacks that were at the camp. There were six deep balls that went for touchdowns. First, Westminster Christian Academy 2026 QB Stephen George connected with South Lafourche 2026 WR Landon Jarvis for a touchdown. Then, South Lafourche 2026 QB Joshua Mack connected with St. Charles Catholic 2026 RB Skyler Edwards for a deep touchdown. John Curtis 2028 QB London Padgett showed that he has the ability to throw the deep ball to balance the Patriots’ split back veer attack with two dimes to Landon Jarvis and Franklinton 2026 WR Damikies McClain. Destrehan 2028 QB Aushai Smith hit Salmen 2027 WR Rey’sean Coleman for a score while John Curtis 2027 QB Jayden Elvir ended the session with a scoring toss to Fontainebleau speedster 2028 running back Sheldon Asmore.

The player that wowed players and fans alike the most during 1v1s was certainly South Lafourche 2026 WR Terrance Pitre, who made two spectacular grabs. The first was reminiscent of Lynn Swann from the early Super Bowls as he floated in mid air to snag a ball, and the second, the two time All-State receiver caught the ball over a defensive back that was in good coverage. To add, Pitre also had an interception playing defensive back at the end of the camp.

The defensive backs also made their share of plays as well. Woodlawn 2026 DB Cayden Randall was a lockdown in coverage with a couple of PBUs. The same can be said for Plaquemine 2026 S Cameron Rogers, Denham Springs 2026 CB Quentin Clay, and Liberty 2026 CB Carlnell Robinson, who all had multiple pass breakups in the session.

While the 1v1 session was feast or famine for the deep ball, the quarterbacks showed their underneath passing game and timing with the receivers during 7v7. The biggest highlight was when South Lafourche QB Joshua Mack found a wide open Dajohn Howard for a touchdown. Holy Cross 2026 QB Jokoby Farria impressed with his strong arm and effortless release. The quarterback talent was strong as Rummel 2028 QB Sean Jarzemkowski, John Curtis 2028 QB London Padgett, Larose Cutoff 2031 QB Alan Cheramie, Jesuit 2029 QB Jack Grace, Destrehan 2028 QB Aushai Smith, Westminster Christian Academy 2026 QB Stephen George, Warren Easton 2029 QB Anthony Perkins, John Curtis 2031 QB PJ Haines, and John Curtis 2027 QB Jayden Elvir all completed passes. On the receiving end of those catches were South Lafourche 2026 WR Terrance Pitre, Hammond 2026 RB Trion Wise, John Curtis 2032 TE Coy Dufrene, South Lafourche 2026 WR Andravin Hughes, Springfield 2026 WR Ethan Lipscomb, Ellender 2026 WR LaDainian Perna, E.D. White 2030 WR Reese Monier, South Lafourche 2026 WR Landon Jarvis, St. Charles Catholic 2026 RB Skyler Edwards, Haynes Academy 2028 WR Sebastian Gonzalez, Salmen 2027 QB/WR Dajohn Howard, John Curtis 2031 WR Diem Dufrene, and Salmen 2027 WR Rey’sean Coleman.

The linemen got to compete against each other as well in 1v1 competition and also the tire pull drill. Opelousas 2026 Deaven Stevenson impressed with how slippery and quick he was coming off the ball going up against bigger guys. Meanwhile, Hammond 2028 DT Solar Tynes, Central Lafourche 2028 DL Zaylon Harris, and Salmen 2027 DE Reginald Bouie showed a lot of potential as well on the defensive line too. By the time that was over, it was time to wrap up the camp with some hardware.

Five underclassmen were named Elite Camp Top Performers in Salmen 2027 QB/WR Dajohn Howard, Fontainebleau 2028 RB Sheldon Asmore, Salmen 2027 WR Rey’sean Coleman, Hammond 2028 DT Solar Tynes, and John Curtis 2028 QB London Padgett.

Those players were Liberty Magnet 2026 S Carlnell Robinson, Opelousas 2026 DE Deaven Stevenson, South Lafourche 2026 WR Terrance Pitre, St. Charles Catholic 2026 RB Skyler Edwards, Acadiana Christian 2026 LB Kaleb Broussard, Denham Springs 2026 S Quentin Clay, Holy Cross 2026 QB Jokoby Farria, South Lafourche 2026 QB Joshua Mack, Franklinton 2026 WR Damikies McClain, and Plaquemine 2026 S Cameron Rogers.

The camp was an overwhelming success and we cannot thank J.T. Curtis, the Curtis family, and the entire John Curtis school for allowing us to host the camp at their wonderful facility.

Gridiron wants to thank Arnold Kairdolf for providing the water at the camp. Arnold’s LivingWater flushes fat, waste, and toxin from the cell making it much healthier than regular water. It also helps athletes perform at a higher level while not getting cramps. None of the players at the camp had any cramps and that is thanks to Arnold Kairdolf and his water.

Bemer is also another great supporter of Gridiron Football as they provided chairs for coaches and players throughout the camp. BEMER stimulates healthy muscles to improve and facilitate muscle performance. For more information, visit their website at www.bemergroup.com!

Finally, we want to thank Tomara’s Cleans, Regional Generator Services, and Angie’s Maids for sponsoring the camp.

Coming up next, Gridiron Football will have two camps coming up on the same week. There will be a camp on Tuesday, June 17th at Beauregard Covered Arena in DeRidder, Louisiana and the other will be later that week on Friday, June 20th at Louisiana Christian University.
