Breaux Bridge High School linebacker Antonio Alexander is committed to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.
Antonio Alexander was a ball hawking machine for the Breaux Bridge Tigers this season. Under head coach Zach Lochard, the Tigers went on a Cinderella run in the LHSAA Division II (Non-Select) Playoffs making the Quarterfinals where they lost to the eventual state runner-up North DeSoto Griffins. One of the players that helped the Tigers get on that hot streak in the playoffs was its senior linebacker Antonio Alexander. It was incredible to look at Antonio’s numbers this past season as he stuffed the stat sheet with a whopping 144 total tackles (11 tackles per game), 7 TFLs, 3 sacks, 8 QB hurries, 2 pass deflections, 3 fumble recoveries, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 blocked punts. He also made an impact on offense as a running back with 441 rushing yards and 10 TDs plus 2 two-point conversions. The 1st Team All-District selection may not be the biggest linebacker at 5’11, 170 pounds, but he has incredible 4.5/40 speed, instincts, and has no fear when attacking the football. Antonio could be a perfect safety/linebacker hybrid type player at the next level that can play near the box. He will showcase his talents in just a couple of days at the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game in Orange Beach, Alabama.
