Zylan Perry is a 5’10 ATH who plays quarterback for the Franklin High School Hornets in Franklin, Louisiana. Perry has elite speed clocking a 4.44 40-yard dash but the speed is verified with a 11.1 100-meter dash in track and field. Perry also has elite agility with a 4.3 3-cone shuttle time. As a junior Perry accounted for over 2400 all-purpose yards and 25 touchdowns. He earned 1st Team All-District as an athlete in District 7-2A in the 2020 season.

How long have you been playing football and What do you love about football?
Z: I’ve been playing football since I was 5 years old and the thing I love most about football is the contact.
What has football taught you about yourself?
Z: When I started playing football I wasn’t as athletic as I am now so I had to learn the technique of the game first and now my athleticism mixed with that technique has made me a better player.
Who are your biggest motivators?
Z: My family is my biggest motivation.
Do you play any other sports?
Z: I run track, competing in the 100m, 4X100m relays, 4x200m relays and I also play basketball.
What is your biggest strength on the football field?
Z: My speed is my biggest strength on the field.
What part of your game do you want to improve on in your senior year?
Z: I would like to become a better passer this season.
What should college coaches know about you?
Z: They should know that I have the speed, agility and crisp route running that translates very well to the next level.
What are some of your goals, when it comes to your overall football career?
Z: My goal is play Division 1 football and to continue my playing career professionally.
Is there any player college or professional that you model your game after?
Z: A lot of people compare me to Lamar Jackson, they call me “Lamar 2.0”.
What are some of your goals this season team wise and personally?
Z: My main goal is for our team to make it to and win the state championship game and I want to be first team all-state this season.
