DITR: Thomas Cagle

Thomas Cagle is a 6’3, 220-pound De/Lb out of Kenner Discovery High School in Kenner, LA. The class of 2022 prospect made a living causing havoc in the backfield this season. He used his size to fire off the ball and disrupt offensive schemes for the Kenner Discovery defense. To go along with his on-field work, Thomas maintains a 3.4 GPA in the classroom.

When did you start playing football?

I started playing park ball at about 6 or 7.

Who were your biggest motivators for doing so?

I grew up playing with my whole family. I was always around football so they just pushed me to play.

What kind of value would you add to a college program?

I would put the effort in and always make sure I work hard.

What are your biggest strengths on the field?

I feel like I am good at reading the field and I’m not scared to do my job.

What are you looking forward to from getting the experience of playing in the bowl game?

It’ll be cool seeing all the competition and some of the best players in Louisiana. I know it will be a good experience.

What type of mentality do you feel you need to have to play the defensive side of the ball?

You have to stay aggressive every play. You have to want to beat the guy in front of you and you can’t be scared.

What are some lessons you’ve learned from playing football?

Even when you mess up, you have to get back up and keep going. Try not to make the same mistake next play.

What do you like most about competing and playing football?

I love the brotherhood and when everybody’s around. Playing with your whole team and everyone having the same goal.
