DITR: RB Ronald Robinson, Covington High School (Covington, Louisiana)

Ronald Robinson is a 5’8, 140 lb running back out of Covington High School in Covington, Louisiana. The class of 2025 running back is very shifty, able to create space with just a quick cut. He is a very agile back, and he proved this at Gridiron Football’s Elite Camp last Saturday. Ronald ran a speedy 4.54 second forty yard dash, adding onto an impressive 8 foot and 3 inch broad jump. He showed his full effort on every rep during receiver and running back drills, and went up for every jump ball during 1 on 1’s and 7 on 7. It is very apparent that Ronald has a high football IQ. He finds the right hole to burst through every time, and understands the angle he needs to take to make a play. Ronald is also a very tough runner. He does not let his size affect a play, and regularly needs multiple defenders to bring him down. He has been playing football since he was 5, and still has room to grow. I think Ronald’s future in this game has some real potential.

It really was my dad. He played football and he really inspired me to thrive in football. It’s been like that since I was little.

What are some goals for yourself, and your team next season?

I want to go to the playoffs and win. Personally, I want to go to college and end up in the league.

What are some things you worked on at Gridiron Football’s Elite Camp in Covington, that you will bring into next season?

Definitely my speed. Working on getting shiftier is another big one.

It has to be LSU.

What is a challenge you have faced and how did you get past it?

My size in general for being a running back. I had to be more confident in myself, and my capabilities on the field.

Who do you try and model your game after?

I really try to be like Alvin Kamara. He’s a very shifty back and shifty athlete in general.

Do you have a favorite personal highlight from playing?

There was one time I scored a crazy touchdown. They gave me the ball in the backfield and I ended up breaking like 5 tackles. I hit the open field and burst into the endzone.

Any pre game rituals?

Not really, I just listen to music and try and get into the mode.
