We like to welcome our latest Diamond in The Rough Ty Cutrer! He is a versatile offensive lineman playing guard and tackle out of Mandeville High School, class of 2027. Standing at 6’4, 280 lbs he brings a strong presence to Mandeville’s offensive line. He moves well for his size, with enough quickness to get off the ball, pull on run plays, and reach defenders at the second level. Cutrer had a 40 yard dash of 5.79, shuttle was 4.95, and his broad jump was 6.2. We at Gridiron football wish Ty the best in his football career!

“I only been playing football for 3 years, if you want to achieve something you can do it as long as you put in the work.” -Ty Cutrer

Here’s my interview with Ty!

What goals do you have for your upcoming season?

Bring my team to a state championship, that is my number one goal and grow as a team.

What made you start playing football?

Watching LSU in 2019 with Joe Burrow and my dad always watched college football.

What is a drill that you can improve on (from camp)?

Tight rider feet, I need to work on that to get my feet quicker.

Who is your favorite football player?

Tom Brady or Tim Tebow, I love Tim Tebow’s story from Florida.

What motivates you to keep working hard?

God, and how he suffered and how a lot of people do. It helps me to keep going. Also my dad, and playing football, working out. I just stay grateful because I have the chance to what I can do.

Favorite football College?

LSU

How did it feel competing with other players at the camp?

It felt amazing, you only learn from real 1v1s and going against somebody. Even though we didn’t know each other it was like a brotherhood because we are all offensive lineman

How does camps like this get help you get better for the season?

Confidence mainly. If you do go good someone will have your back, it is big in football. Cioach Pennywell did great teaching me that. Also just the practice and the things that coach said I never heard before that I will use.

What is the biggest thing you learned from the camp?

With Coach Pennywell being quick with my feet, and once you stop moving your feet you lose.

What did it mean to receive the All-American Gridiron Football 2026 Bowl game invite?

This means the world to me, when I heard my name I was so excited. It was great, I’m so excited!

Why should college coaches recruit you?

Because I am coach-able, whatever coach needs me to do I will do it.
