DITR: LB/DE Jaedon Lathers North Iberville HS, (Maringouin, LA)

We have Junior Jaedon Lathers out of Maringouin, LA. A 6’1 227 LB/DE with a 3.1 GPA ending the season with 85 tackles, 16 TFLs, 12 pressures, and 2 sacks. Jaedon transferred from Livonia High School where he also played at TE,HB and Flex. Gridiron Football wishes him the best at the next level and his new school!

What has football taught you that you think will help you most in college life?

Football has taught me how to stay resilient and motivated to do the right things everyday to get to the next level.

How does it feel knowing this is your last season wearing your high school jersey?

It feels great to say i can play this game I love so much for one more year i get just one more shot at getting an opportunity to play at the next level not to many can say they play college football where I’m from.

What moment from your senior year are you going to remember forever?

The moment from my senior year is dressing up for media day one more to just to see everyone feel good about what we have going for us ahead.

Are you planning to play football in college, or focus more on academics?

I’m planning on going to college for my academics and to play college football I wanna major in Livestock Management.

What made you choose the college you’re heading to?

I haven’t chosen a college yet I’m still uncommitted.

What are you most excited about for college and what are you nervous about?

I’m mostly excited about my first college game the moment is gonna be long awaited and what I’m most nervous about is not see my family for long periods of time.

Who pushed you the most to become the player (and person) you are today?

My father is what pushed me the most just the distance we had at such an early age I just wanted to make it up to him and make it out.

What’s one lesson a younger teammate could learn from your journey?

A lesson a younger teammate name Camron Carter is to stay resilient and determined to the goals when he scrambled 20 yards back and threw a touchdown for the two points conversion.

How do you stay motivated when practices or games get tough?

The way I stay motivated in games is just going numb and getting in that mood of ” nobody can mess with me”.

What goals are you setting for yourself your first year of college?

The goal I have when I get to college is to be the best in the conference I’m in and being the best young man I can be.

If you could replay one game or moment from high school football, what would it be and why?

One moment I would love to reply is when I  was in 9th grade and I seen my cousin Treylin Whaley score a 60 yard touchdown.

How has balancing school, football, and life shaped your time management?

I had a pretty healthy balance of school and football I’d always get up around 5 or 6 study some school work or doing a 30 minute exercise shower then go to school then practice after practice leave then repeat.

What kind of legacy do you hope you’re leaving behind on your team?

The type of legacy i wanna leave is to all ways believe in yourself be resilient and never forget where you come from.

Outside of football, what are you hoping to discover or try in college?

In college I am looking forward to finding new hobbies recently I’ve been fishing a lot and golfing.

Five years from now, where do you hope football and your education have taken you?

I hope five years from now my football career has taken me to the nfl combine so I can hear my name being called on draft night. And education from the program I will be attending helps me accomplish in getting my major in Livestock Management.

What’s your go-to pregame song

My favorite pregame song is Back on my Feet by NBA Youngboy.

What snack or meal do you destroy after games?

My favorite meal to eat after a game is a caniac combo from canes.

The first thing you’re doing when you move into your dorm?

The first thing I’m doing when I get to my dorm is getting something to eat and studying film.

If football didn’t exist, what sport do you think you’d be good at?

If football didn’t exist I would be a blue collar worker.
