Kyle Jones Jr is a 6’2, 172-pound WR/CB out of Woodlawn High school in Baton Rouge, LA. This class of 2022 prospect is a powerhouse when it comes to running routes and making plays. His speed and agility are what make him a dominant player in the game of football. This year he was 2nd-team all-district. Kyle is excited to continue his academic and athletic career at Grambling State University.

When did you start playing football?

I started playing in the 3rd grade. When I was younger I played for the Bears and the Colts.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

I also played basketball and ran track.

Have you always played wide receiver?

Growing up I played multiple positions such as wide receiver, cornerback, quarterback, running back, tight end, safety, and even defensive end. After playing each position I felt I was best at cornerback and running back.

Is there a player in the NFL that you like or do you try and model your game after?

Antonio Brown. His agility as a player as well as the routes that he runs makes me want to model my game after him.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in your football career so far?

Knowing that I am able to continue my academic and athletic career playing the sport I love.

What motivates you to keep playing football?

I really love the sport of football. I know I want to continue to play football in the future and make it my job. Just being able to work on me as a player to be the best that I can be is what motivates me to keep going out there.

What is your biggest strength on the field?

I would consider myself a good punt returner. I am able to break tackles and make plays for my team which helps us succeed in the end.

What has football taught you about life and yourself?

You don’t always have to do something one way. My teammates would run routes differently than I would and it would show me that there are different ways to get to your goal. You do not have to do it one way to get where you want to be. As well as knowing that anything you put your mind to, you can get it with hard work and dedication.

What would be your My cause My cleats?

Giving students a second chance. Colleges only have a limited amount of scholarships for athletes. Being able to give to colleges to be able to make more scholarships for future athletes is what is important to me.
