DITR: Jaydan Gladney OLB Airline High school (Shreveport LA)

Jaydan Gladney is a class of 2025 6’0 190-pound outside linebacker from Airline High School with a 4.0 GPA. Gladney’s playstyle is based on making the greatest reads, reading the line and the quarterback well, and creating the best plays. This previous season Gladney had 54 Tackles, 6 Tackle for loss, 1 Sack, 1 Force Fumble, 1 Fumble recovery, and 3 Interceptions. Gladney presently has no official offers, but has spoken with a few coaches and is waiting patiently for them to start rolling in!

How do you set and achieve your personal and team goals each season?

We establish what needs to be done as a yeam and we work to achieve that.
Whether its in the weight room, during film, or extra work outside of practice, l always go 100% because that will allow me to fulfill my goals.

What sacrifices have you made for football, and do you feel they’ve been worth it?

Some sacrifices are not going to parties or going to sleep early, Its all worth it because it allows me to be the best version of myself and play the game I love.

How do you handle setbacks or disappointments, both on and off the field?

When I go through setbacks I just have to go back to the drawing board and see what went wrong and fix it.

What has been the most challenging aspect of playing football at the high school level?

The most challenging part is staying consistent because I’m one of the leaders on my team, so if I’m not consistent then the players who look up to me wont be either.

Can you talk about a specific play or moment where you felt you made a significant impact on the game?

First game of the season vs North Desoto, we were down going into half then when we came back out, I got two back to back interceptions that gave our team the momentum to win and finish the game.

How do you maintain a healthy diet to support your athletic performance?

I just have to show myself how eating healthier shows what you work on in the weight room, and helps you feel better.

What do you enjoy doing outside of football and school?

I like playing basketball, hanging with family and friends, going out looking for more shoes and clothes, and playing the game.

How do you stay connected with your teammates outside of practices and games?

My teammates and I are always together, whether its playing the video game, going to play pick up basketball, or having get togethers. This allows us to have a good relationship on and off the field.

Have you ever had to step into a different position or role unexpectedly, and how did you adapt?

Freshman I played tight end and outside linebacker, but for varsity I could on play one side and decided to stick to oustside linebacker. Other than that I havent had to change positions.

What are your thoughts on the importance of sportsmanship in football?

Sportsmanship shows alot of your character, obviously on the field my job is to hit people and thats what I’m going to do, but it’s how you act afer the games, or on the sidelines that catches coaches eyes. So you must play hard, but also show sportsmanship.
